For a more secure option, use ProtonMail: beebej [at] protonmail [dot] com. You can set up a ProtonMail account for free — use an anonymous username and a unique password, with no secondary email or phone number. Make sure you’re not using your work computer, and choose a neutral subject line. Or use the message box, and then we’ll talk via Signal.
🕵️♀️Want to go down an infosec rabbit hole? Invest in or try a free VPN, use two-factor authentication (like Authy or Google Authenticator), use HTTPS Everywhere and Privacy Badger, use DuckDuck Go, use Tor or Tails, encrypt everything (including your iPhone, your entire hard disk, and your files before they’re backed up to iCloud, Google Drive, or Dropbox — or even better, use Spideroak), use a complex and unique password for all accounts (20 random characters or even a poetic phrase like “Iwanderedlonelyasacloud” — and then, use a password manager), just say no to Slack and Facebook Messenger, remember your phone is a GPS tracking device, and be wary of phishing attacks. Check out these resources from the Citizen Lab, the Freedom of the Press Foundation, and the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists.
